Pournami Kavu Bhadrakali Temple, Venganoor
The Pournami Kavu is positioned in Chavadi Nada, Venganoor, Thiruvananthapuram in the state of Kerala, India. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Bala Bhadra Devi. But the temple is famous for its Ganesh statue, the largest statue of Ganesha in the world.
The presiding deity of the temple is Goddess Bala Bhadra Devi. The Goddess is in her five different forms such as Bala Bhadra, Veera Bhadra, Roudra Bhadra, Krodha Bhadra and Samhara Bhadra. Other deities in the temple include Goddess Sri Lakshmi Vinayakan, Goddess Sri Ugra Rektha, Goddess Chamundi Devi, Lord Thampuran, Lord Yogeeswaran, Lord Mantra Moorthi, Lord Brahma Rekshaasu, Goddess Yekshiyamma, Lord Naagar and Lord Pancha Mukha Ganapathi.
On the full moon day, the various special pooja offerings performed in the temple include the Maha Ganapathi Homam, Saraswathi Pooja, Lakshmi Pooja, Pournami Pooja, Kalasha Pooja, Kalashabhishekam, Sri Chakra Pooja, Panja Shakthi Pooja, Sarva Dosha Nivarana Pooja, Sarva Karya siddhi pooja, Sarva Roga nivarana pooja and Chandika Homam.
Annually, the festival of this temple will be held for three days during the month of March. During the festival, special poojas will be offered. Rituals such as agni vilayattom and hot oil bath will be performed by the oracles.
Temple is opened from 5.50 AM to 12 PM and from 5.30 PM to 8 PM. The temple is open only twelve days a year and only on the full moon days.

Venganoor is 6.7 kms from Kovalam. Buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws are available frequently to reach the temple.
