In 1840 Bholram Gujjar had a dream come. In that dream he came to know about the three statues present in the ground. When the site was excavated and then Bholram dream was right out there with the three statues looking alike. All of them were very picturesque. Lord Sri Krishna was seen playing flute. One of these was carried statue Mandpiya village and the temple was built there. The second statue was transported Bhadsodha village and there was also a temple. The third statue was installed at prakatya. Over time, the reputation of the three temples increased. Even today, thousands of passengers from far off come to visit every year.
The shrine of Shri Sanwaliaji is considerably old and carries a mythical mystery about its origin. It is situated about 40 km. from Nimbahera. This is the land where the devout Meera danced and sang in her ecstatic adorations to Lord Krishna. The temple symbolizes the unflinching faith and devotion. Thousands of pilgrims from far and near, many of them on foot, throng daily to Mandaphia to have a darshan of their Lord. In the hope of receiving divine blessings, they pray devoutly and make secret propitiatory offerings at the sacred altar of Sanwaliaji.
Their experience in the shrine, before the fascinating idol of Krishna, is spiritually so enriching that they immediately feel inspired to renounce their worldly procession for the sake of eternal bliss. It is indeed a miracle that the Lord disappoints none of his devotees. Mandaphia, the second abode of Lord Krishna (the first one being Nathdwara), is 7 km. from Bhadsora cross-roads. This temple of Shri Krishna is considered second only to the temple of the Lord Shrinathji at Nathdwara. The sanctity and religious atmosphere of the place is augmented by the various festivals and ceremonies organized round the year by the Mandir Mandal or by the devotees from different parts of the country. Especially, on the 11th day of Bhadra- Shukla (Dev-Jhulni Ekaadashi), the Mandir Mandal organizes a mela (fair) of the Lord in which lakhs of people participate with great religious fervor and zeal.
The Sanwaliya ji temple is recently renovated and beautifully builds with glasses. During Chauhan period, it became a famous center for art and architecture. A grand new temple is being put in place of the old structure. The new temple will also have guest houses for devotees who wish to stay in the premises and do ‘Seva’.
Chittorgarh is well connected to all parts of India by roads. The Golden Quardilateral Road Project and North-South-East-West corridor expressway passes through Chittorgarh City.
