Adichikkavu Durga Devi Temple, Pandanad
Adichikkavu Sree Durga Devi Kshetram is positioned in Pandanad Village, Alapuzha in the state of Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Sree Vana Durga. The temple is situated about 6 km west of Chengannur, and 4 km east of Mannar. It is the oldest temple in Pandanad. The temple is constructed in the traditional Kerala architectural style. Adichikkave Sree Durga Devi kshetram is currently under the control of the Pandanad Karayogam. The temple complex also includes Anakottil and Sapthaha Mandapam.
The temple is open for devotees from 5 AM to 11.30 AM and from 5 PM to 7.30 PM.
Pathamudayam is the major festival of this temple. This ten day celebration starts on the auspicious day of Vishu. Other major festival of this temple include Pongala, Parayeduppu and Navaha Yajnam.
The presiding deity of this temple is Goddess Sree Vana Durga. Other deities of this temple include Goddess Yakshiamma, Lord Nagaraja, Goddess Nagayakshi and the Brahmarakshas.
