A true legendary temple located at Mithila where in the divine power of the Goddess Durga reaches out to a million devotees who come there almost every day. It is truly one of the historic marvels we cane be really proud of . There are several other monuments near this temple like the Janki temple and they also have a Jankapur Women’s Development Center where in they display a lot of art works and handicraft works.
We were lucky to be there during Ram Navami and the people over there celebrated the festival with so much zeal and zest. The temple was open throughout the day and was very well decorated. Even the colour fountain in front of the temple only added more beauty to this colourful festival. Though it was quite crowded we surely did have a great time.
Since the temple is quite close to the Janakpura railway station it was very convenient for us to visit this temple. A very simple white colored temple with 4 minars. Maa durga is considered as the main deity here. After visiting this temple we also made it a point to visit the near by temples and other monuments. It is a very nice historic destination and very calm and peaceful too.
We are staunch believers of Goddess Durga and this time when we visited Nepal ,we visited the Mithila Shakthi Peet. It is said that the devi’s left shoulder fell here . The temple remained open for a long time and was very calm . We got a very good darshan and did a special puja for the entire family. The pujari was also very kind
