I had come to West Bengal for a conference many years ago and one of the locals told me that i must visit this temple and seek the blessings of the Goddess Durga who indeed is extremely powerful. In fact after i went there and i must say it is indeed one of the historic places we have in India and a lot of devotees come here especially during Navaratri.
I came here with my friends many years ago during Durga puja. It was such a divine experience. The pujas were so grand and elaborate and the deity was so well decorated that you will find it really hard to take your eyes off even for a second. The ladies who came to temple were so beautifully adorned and were singing prayers and hymns in praise of the goddess. Some of them even offered milk, dresses , ornaments , flowers to the deity.Though it was extremely crowded we surely enjoyed every bit of it.
A very simple temple built according to the ancient architecture . The Ratnavali Shakthi Peeth is located in the Hoogly district in West Bengal. Buses are quite frequent to this temple and is not so difficult to reach. The temple remains open for a long time. Since we went there not during the peak season time it was not crowded and was very quite and calm.
According to Sanskrit, Durga means the one who is unbeatable, who cannot be defeated , the one who conquers everything. A very powerful deity.Such is the feeling I got when I came here and visited this temple .A wonderful experience.
Finding a temple in the narrow streets of Khanakul Krishnanagar district in Hoogly in West Benagal is no easy feat. However this Shakthi temple was surely worth the visit . The temple is well maintained and a peaceful place. Recommended.
