Customize ItineraryIn the region of Himalayas, Chardham Yatra is one of the most sacred pilgrimage which comprises of four abodes of hindu deties – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath. During the 8th century a great hindu saint, Adi Shankaracharya had laid the foundation of all these destinations.
This yatra consist of four religious destinations which are dedicated to the abode of four different deities of Hindus. Gangotri is abode of Goddess Ganga and also known as the origin of holy river Ganga. Yamunotri is the origin of river Yamuna and the dwelling of Goddess Yamuna. While Badrinath and Kedarnath are dedicated to lord Vishnu and lord Shiva.
The 12 days Char Dham Yatra 2015 – Kedarnath on foot is customized to acquaint you with spiritual aspect of ‘Dev Bhoomi’ Uttarakhand along with a chance to experience the thrill of white water rafting in Rishikesh. Please read on the detailed itinerary:
Itinerary Details
Day 1 – Delhi – Haridwar (230 Km / 6 to 7 hrs)
After arriving in Delhi, meet our representative who helps you with an assisted transfer to Haridwar, one of the holiest Hindu cities, by road. On the way, get your Biometric done before beginning the Yatra.
Once you reach there, complete the check-in formalities at your hotel. The evening is scheduled for Ganga Arti at Har-ki-Paudi, a sight to remember for lifetime. Soak-in the divinity while standing on the banks of the holy river Ganga. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 – Haridwar – Barkot (190 Km / 6 to 7 hrs) / Janki Chatti (245 Km / 8 to 9 hrs)
On day 2, after breakfast, leave for the beautiful town of Barkot, placed at the foot of Yamunotri. Drive from Mussoorie and en-route halt at Kempty falls, a popular picnic spot. If you want, take a dip in the cold water.
Later, continue for Barkot. On arrival, check into your camp/hotel. The rest of the day is free so that you can garner energy for the upcoming Yatra. Dinner and night stay in Barkot.
Day 3 – Barkot/ Janki Chatti – Yamunotri – Barkot /Janki Chatti (48 Km / 2 hrs)/ (8 km/30 min)
Have your breakfast on the 3rd day; depart for Janki Chatti (44 km from Barkot). This is the point from where Pad Yatra (trek) for the first Char Dham destination, Yamunorti begins.
One can also opt from a horse ride of a Palki (palanquin) ride also (cost not included). Pass through verdant valley and paths covered with cacti, conifers and other Himalayan shrubs. The western-most religious site of the Char Dham destinations of Garhwal Himalayas, Yamunotri is placed at an altitude of 3293 m, at the top of Bandar Poonch Parvat.
The source of the holy River Yamuna, it is the seat of the River Goddess Yamuna. As you reach, take a dip in the holy waters and perform Pooja. Later, back to Barkot/Janki Chatti for dinner and overnight stay
Day 4 – Barkot/ Janki Chatti – Uttarkashi (85 Km/ 3 hrs)(135 Km / 5 hrs)
Post- breakfast, complete the check -out formalities from the hotel/camp in Barkot. Start driving for Uttarkashi. Famed as the Kashi of the north, Uttarkashi (1352 m above the sea level) is located on the banks of River Bhagirathi.
As you reach, check-in at the hotel. The place houses a number of ashrams and temples. The evening is scheduled for Aarti at Vishwanath temple, where one can have darshan of Swayambu Linga by Lord Shiva (self-manifested linga during meditation). Dinner and stay overnight.
Day 5 – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 Km / 3 to 4 hrs)
Start day 5 early after breakfast. Leave for Gangotri (3100 m), placed on the banks of River Ganga, which is here known as Bhagirathi. Gangotri is the seat of River Goddess Ganga.
After arriving, take a dip in the holy waters of the river. Later, have darshan at the Gangotri temple, made up of white granite, built during the 18th century. This is the spot where Ganga had touched the earth after severe penance by King Bhagirath.
After Darshan and Pooja, drive back to Uttarkashi in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6 – Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (240 Km / 9 to 10 hrs)
Post an early morning breakfast, hit the road to Guptakashi (1319 m). Upon reaching, check-in at the hotel. A fairly large town, Guptkashi has been blessed with scenic beauty in abundance and houses a number of temples.
After relaxing for a while, get your medical check-up done for the Yatra of the next day. Dinner and overnight in Guptkashi.
Day 7 – Guptkashi – Gaurikund – Kedarnath (35 Km + 17 Km trek)
Start your day early, have breakfast and begin driving for Gaurikund. This is the point from where the trek to Kedarnath begins.
You can also opt for a horse ride or a palki ride (cost not included). Kedarnath is also the originating point of one of River Ganga’s main tributaries, Mandakini. Kedarnath is not only one of the Char Dham destinations but is also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
After arriving in Kedarnath, check into the lodge/camp. Time is free to relax. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 – Kedarnath – Gaurikund – Guptkashi (17 Km trek + 35 Km drive)
On the 8th day of the tour, get-up before dawn and get ready for visiting Kedarnath temple at the time ‘Abhiskeh’ (around 4:45 am). Enter the Garbha Griha to have Darshan of the idol.
After Darshan and Pooja, back to the Kedarnath camp/hotel. Complete the check-out formalities and begin your 20 km trek to Sonprayag from Kedarnath.
At Sonprayag, your vehicles are waiting to take you to Guptkashi, for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9 – Guptkashi – Joshimath – Badrinath (190 Km / 7 to 8 hrs)
After breakfast and check-out, begin driving to Badrinath, via Joshimath. As you reach Badrinath town, check-in at the hotel. Relax for some time and have refreshments.
Later, in the evening go to Badrinath temple for darshan. En- route stop at Tapt Kund or Hot Spring. Take bath here and then continue to the temple.
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this Char Dham destination is an important religious site for Vaishnavites and is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu. Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 10 – Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag (165 Km / 5 to 6 hrs)
On the 10th day, visit the Badrinath temple again for darshan. Back to the hotel for breakfast. Later, proceed for sightseeing, including Mana Village- the last village on the India-Tibet border that is inhabited by Indo-Mangolian tribe, Vyas Gufa-the cave where sage Vyas had stayed while writing the four Vedas, Ganesh Gufa- the caves where Lord Ganesha composed the Hindu epic Mahabharata and other Puranas, and Mata Murti temple- placed on the banks of River Alaknanda, it is dedicated to Mata Murti, mother of Nara and Narayana.
Thereafter, begin driving back to Rudraprayag. On the way, visit Karnaprayag. One of the Panch Prayags of River Alaknanda, it is the confluence of Rivers Pindar and Alaknanda. Continue to Rudraprayag, a pilgrimage town which is the meeting point of River Mandakini and River Alaknanda. After reaching, check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Rudraprayag.
Day 11 – Rudraprayag – Rishikesh – Haridwar (160 Km / 5 to 6 hrs)
On day 11, post breakfast, drive back to Rishikesh, placed at the foothills of northern Himalayas. An important Hindu religious city, Rishikesh is also famed as the ‘Yoga capital of the world’.
After arriving, visit the prime attractions of Rishikesh, Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, iron suspension bridges with mythological connection. In the evening, drive back to Haridwar. After arrival, check-into the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 12 – Haridwar – Delhi (230 Km / 6 to 7 hrs)
On the last day of the tour, after breakfast, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. Begin driving back to Delhi. After reaching, get an assisted transfer to the airport/ railway station for your onward journey.

Helicopter Charges
Helicopter Charges (Full fare would be charged from 3 years & above)
- Phata – Kedarnath- Phata return fare @ INR 8500 per person (Subject to change).
- As per the policy of Helicopter service providers only 3 Kg of handbag is allowed and full fare would be charged from children 3 years & above of age.
- For same day return trip report time at helipad is 0700 Hrs and for overnight passengers is 0930 hrs.
- Passengers would be given 1-2 Hours for darshan and one can avail priority darshan tickets upon arrival in Kedarnath which are available only for Helicopter passengers.
